In Duel, the question count applies to each round. Matches are best of three: two round wins decide the match. Tied round wins after three rounds trigger sudden death. Everyone faces everyone; an odd player count includes byes. A match win earns 3 points. Total correct answers break points ties; equal totals share a place. In Raid Boss, you fight together: correct answers damage the boss and shared mechanic questions test your teamwork.

How to play

Pick a mode, play at your own pace, or bring a group into a lobby. Here is what you need to know.

Solo

A run has 30 questions. Choose Easy, Medium, Hard, or Mythic, then pick one of four answers. Standard and Timewalking runs reveal the answers and explanations at the end.

Timewalking

Choose one or more eras to revisit using the era cards. You will get 30 questions with mixed difficulty. Select lore only if you want to focus on the stories. This mode does not count towards the weekly standings.

Practice

Take your time. After each answer, read the correct answer, explanation, and source, then move on when you are ready. At the end, you can try just the questions you got wrong again. Practice does not affect personal bests or weekly standings.

Difficulty and Hardcore

Easy starts with familiar characters and places. Medium expects more specific game knowledge, Hard is built for veterans, and Mythic digs deep into WoW history. In Hardcore, the first wrong answer ends your run.

Multiplayer

The host creates a lobby and shares its five-digit code. They choose the game mode and eras. In Competition and Duel, they also choose the question count and answer time. Each player works through their own question order.

Duel

Two players play a best-of-three match. In a larger group, everyone faces everyone under the same rules. More correct answers win a round; a tied round awards neither player a round win. Two round wins decide the match. If round wins are tied after the third round, answer one question at a time: a correct answer wins when the opponent answers incorrectly or runs out of time. Otherwise, sudden death continues. A match win earns three league points. Correct answers trigger your class's attack against your opponent. Animations do not change the timer or scoring. With an odd player count, everyone gets one bye. The next match starts automatically. Total correct answers break league points ties; equal totals share a place. Review all your answers at the end of the series.

Raid Boss

You are on the same side now. The host chooses a boss and raid difficulty: Normal, Heroic or Mythic. The boss has twice the players' health. Correct answers damage the boss; mistakes and timeouts hurt the players.

Start with four questions at your own pace, with 20 seconds for each. Once everyone is ready, the entire group gets the same boss-specific mechanic question. You have 15 seconds to vote. Each answer shows how many players chose it, and you can change your vote until time runs out. Everyone correct means no damage. More than half correct means half damage. Otherwise, the group takes full damage. Missing votes count as wrong; agreeing on a wrong answer does not protect the group.

There are up to three stages, or 15 questions per player. Defeat the boss before your questions run out. If it survives the last mechanic and the raid is still alive, enrage begins: the boss powers up and its final strike ends the fight. Enrage damage does not count towards players’ OOPS totals. You can skip the final animation without changing the result. The fight ends immediately if either health bar reaches zero. Review your answers and explanations at the end. Each rematch randomly selects a different boss from the previous round.

Ties and rematches

A tie for first place goes to sudden death while the rest of the lobby watches. After the game, anyone can call a rematch vote. If more than 60 percent vote yes and there are at least two yes votes, another round starts with the players who opted in.

Find your own challenge

Practice lets you retry the questions you missed. In Raid Boss, start on Normal and raise the difficulty as your teamwork improves. The shared five-second multiplayer countdown gives everyone a moment to get ready.
